Viewing Family History

You can view Family History (KIAFHxUI.dll opened from multiple applications) as a component in the Chart Review as a nonactionable cell.

 One of the following options is displayed in the Family History section:

  • No Family History for This PatientThis option is displayed when a patient's family history is not yet assessed.
  • Adopted: This option is displayed when the patient is documented as adopted.
  • Negative: This option is displayed when the patient has no family history to document.
  • Unable to Obtain: This option is displayed when the family history cannot be obtained from the patient.
  • Unknown: This option is displayed when the patient does not know his or her family history.
  • [Family Member Relation]: This option is displayed when a family member with positive conditions is available.

    Notes

    • The Family History section displays family member relations that have at least one positive condition documented or a Health Status documented as Positive or Unknown. Family member relations are sorted in the following order:
      • Mother
      • Father
      • Sister
      • Brother
      • Daughter
      • Son
      • Any others are sorted in alphabetic order by name.
    • When multiple family member relations with the same relationship are added, for example, if the patient has two brothers, the system sorts them by the most recently created.

Viewing Family History Details

The Family History split view contains a list of the patient's family member relations that are documented in the left pane.

Note

The first family member relation listed is selected in the left pane by default when the view opens and the corresponding detail view is displayed in the right pane.

To view details for a family member relation, select the family member relation and scroll to view additional information.

The left pane contains the following family member attributes:

  • Family Member Relation: Displays family member relations that have at least one positive condition documented or a Health Status documented as Positive or Unknown

  • Deceased Indicator: Deceased is displayed in parenthesis beside the family member relation when applicable. 
  • Conditions: Positive conditions documented for a family member relation are displayed alphabetically in a comma-separated list. 

The right pane contains the following details when known:

  • Age of onset
  • Comments
  • Comments date, time, and personnel
  • Condition
  • Course
  • Deceased indicator
  • Deceased reason
  • Deceased age
  • Family Member Information (Relationship)
  • Family Member First Name
  • Family Member Age
  • Item Last Reviewed date, time, and personnel
  • Life Cycle
  • Severity

Note

Only positive conditions are displayed.
