You can conduct American Well on-demand video visits from PowerChart (PowerChart.exe). You can also manage your Waiting Patients list, view patient-submitted information, and add information to the patient's chart in PowerChart.

On-demand video visits support single sign-on (SSO) functionality for Cerner Millennium and American Well, so you need to log in only once to manage your American Well availability from PowerChart. You can also turn on short message service (SMS) text notifications that alert you when a patient is added to your Waiting Patients list, allowing you to complete other tasks while waiting for patients.

Browser Support

On-demand video visit functionality is supported only in Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) capable browsers. Contact your system administrator if you do not have access to a WebRTC browser.

The following browsers support on-demand video visits for providers; however, Cerner recommends that you use the latest version:

  • Google Chrome 61 or later
  • Microsoft Edge  Chromium 79 or later
  • Mozilla  Firefox 60 or later

Access and Intended Use

Schedule video visits are accessed in the following ways:

  • Providers and their care team access on-demand video visits from PowerChart using a desktop device with an internet connection, webcam, and microphone.
  • Patients and their authorized representatives access on-demand video visits using the On-Demand Video Visits app in their patient portal.
