  • Overview of Items for Review Cloud Component

The version of this page that you are viewing is the most current, approved content.

The Items for Review cloud component enables you to review and acknowledge new orders and abnormal laboratory results that have become available for your patients in the last 12 hours. Additionally, if you have privileges to mark items as Nurse Reviewed, you can complete nurse review in the component.

The list of items displayed in the component is specific to an individual user. Each item remains displayed on your list until you review and acknowledge it, or until 12 hours have passed from the time at which the item became available for review. Additionally, if you documented an abnormal laboratory result, or if you placed or entered an order in PowerOrders, that item is not displayed for you in the Items for Review cloud component. If another user completes nurse review for an item, that item is still displayed on your list, however it is no longer displayed as requiring nurse review. When you review an order that has multiple order actions associated with it, for example, Ordered, Modified, or Discontinued, all actions associated with the order are marked as Reviewed.

When you complete nurse review for an item in the Items for Review cloud component, that order is also marked as Nurse Reviewed in PowerOrders and MAR. If an item has already been marked as Nurse Reviewed in MAR, that item is not displayed in the Items for Review cloud component.

If a new order or non-normal result is not reviewed and acknowledged during the first 12 hours it is available, it is no longer displayed in the component. Items are displayed in the component based on a rolling 12-hour time period.
